2009 Run and Read for Literacy

This year, the Run and Read had around 600 participants and raised $4,600 for Windward schools. See pictures of the event here.

Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Windward Community College, participants celebrated reading aloud with PACT Kaneohe Community Family Center and Read To Me International at the 6th Annual Run & Read.

8:30 a.m.: 1-Mile Fun Run. Families walked/ran a one mile route through the Windward Community College campus, rain or shine. 
9:00 - 10:30 a.m.: 6th Annual Family Book Festival. Activities were free and open to the public. The Book Festival will began immediately after the walk/run. Families enjoyed read alouds, storytelling, arts & craft activities, a Scholastic book fair, entertainment, and more!

If participants signed up by October 1st, $7 of the $10 entry fee went towards their participating school of choice.
